Katharine Hepburn (''The Lion in Winter'') and Barbra Streisand (''Funny Girl'') famously tied for Best Actress at the 1968 Academy Awards.
However, I've always wished that Bette Davis (''All About Eve'') and Gloria Swanson (''Sunset Blvd.'') had tied earlier at the 1950 Oscars.
Frankly, ''All About Eve'' and ''Sunset Blvd.'' also should've tied for Best Picture (and both inspired lesser Tony-winning Best Musicals). |
