Bye Bye Birdie Recordings

First of all I write all of this with a sense of humor and little self mocking for not knowing but...

I was recently filling in some holes in my cast recording collection (I'm almost 50 and have been collecting them since I was a teenager...so I have a lot, and I worked in the business for 20 years so I should know better...but I guess there is a reason this show was missing from my collection...I don't know much about it!)

I feel so duped that I purchsed what is blatantly listed in the iTunes store as "Bye Bye Birdie (Original Broadway Cast Recording)" when it is in fact the London cast recording. On close inspection it does not seem that iTunes carries the OBCR.

I did pause because I felt sure that Dick Van Dyke was in it but didn't see his name listed. Then I convinced myself that I was confusing Broadway with the film.

Anyhow, do people think the London recording is a good enough representation of the score? At least it has Chita. I don't really want to buy another version, but really wish I had the OBCR.

Thanks for listening to my rant :-)
