| I'm always glad to not be considered amongst the snark (though I'm sure I could be from time to time), and I'm glad my reply could be part of a dialogue. Apologies for jumping to assume. If we want to talk snubs, more legit snubs or nomination robberies, and if we're talking Hamilton via Suffs... While, as I said, Lin's role was much bigger and more impressive, in a vastly better show that was an incomparable hit, and Lin had already gotten a Ton nom for lead actor in ITH and was a vibrant beloved member of the community... I do nonetheless think he shouldn't have gotten the nomination for Alexander, and the person who should have *easily* gotten one and was robbed was Benjamin Walker for American Psycho. And his not getting a nom genuinely surprised me and many others at the time, even understanding that the show was a failure and closed fairly quickly (I thought it was quite good and much better than it got credit for), but even acknowledging that I was sure he'd get a nom for his performance in that kind of role. |
