I liked Patriots first and foremost for its historical accuracy showing exactly how Putin came to power and then turned on one of his enablers. Before this play, I only had a vague knowledge of how he became the authoritarian leader of Russia. As I watched act one unfold, I was struck by Stuhlbarg's remarkable performance. I kept thinking to myself this guy is just like Steve Bannon.
I don't want to stray too far off the subject, but Michael Flynn is another guy I would regard as one of America's equivalents to a Russian oligarch. |
