Unfortunately, you're hitting us at a time when several theatres have productions shifting. Several productions, including The Few, closed today. The Last Goodbye and The Tallest Teee close next Sunday, but if the descriptions of both of them left you cold, then I'd give them a miss. And, too bad your trip isn't a little longer. On the 5th you could have caught the first preview of Side Show.

Of what is playing, I'd certainly recommend Chad Deity at the 49-seat ion Theatre in Hillcrest. The central performance on Lambs Players Theater's production of Wit is stunning (performing in Coronado). Moxie Theatre will be starting performances of Skinless, which sounds like an interesting and off-beat show (the company performs in Rolando, and their theatre is not the easiest in the world to find, but they often do excellent work). If you enjoy camp there will be plenty of it at She-Rantulas From Outer Space, a world premiere being presented by Diversionary Theatre in University Heights. Opening night is November 2, and I will be there.

Cygnet Thestre, in Old Town, is using its November 1-3 downtime to present a new play festival and workshops. See the company's website for details.

Sometimes, a theatre company will sponsor a reading on Monday evenings, but I don't see any listed for the 4th.

Also, the new downtown library just opened and is worth a look. There might even be a performance of some sort there.

Enjoy,

Bill, in San Diego
