CABARETS” --------------------------------------- FEINSTEIN’S AT THE NIKKO ANNOUNCES LINEUP FOR OCTOBER, NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER 2013 ▪ Additional artists to be announced at a later date ▪ SAN FRANCISCO – Hotel Nikko San Francisco and Michael Feinstein are proud to announce the upcoming lineup at the all-new Feinstein’s at the Nikko for the months of October, November and December. Artists include Emmy Award winning actress Megan Mullally (“Will and Grace) and actress Stephanie Hunt (“Friday Night Lights,” “Californication”) and their band Nancy & Beth, actress, producer and singer Rita Wilson, Broadway star and recording artist Linda Eder, soul and jazz vocalist Oleta Adams, and more! Additional artists will be announced at a later date. Located within Hotel Nikko (222 Mason Street, San Francisco), Feinstein’s at the Nikko will present a wide range of entertainers all within an intimate 140-seat cabaret setting. Tickets for all performances are on-sale now and available by calling 866.663.1063 or visiting www.ticketweb.com. There is a $20 food and beverage minimum per person inside the showroom which guests can use towards cocktails as well as a variety of small plates crafted exclusively for Feinstein’s at the Nikko by Executive Chef Philippe Striffeler, through Restaurant Anzu. Cheese and dessert platters will also be available in the showroom. All seating at Feinstein’s at the Nikko is cabaret style and available on a first-come, first-served basis within the section purchased. Guests who purchase the prix-fixe dinner at Restaurant Anzu will receive a complimentary section upgrade (subject to availability) and allowed to choose their exact seat locations within the upgraded section. Guests of Feinstein’s at the Nikko can enjoy a variety of food and beverage options before performances. Kanpai Lounge, located in Hotel Nikko’s lobby, offers light cuisine, a full bar and specialty cocktails. Restaurant Anzu, Hotel Nikko’s intimate restaurant located on the second floor, serves sustainable California cuisine enhanced with Asian flavors. Restaurant Anzu will also offer Feinstein’s at the Nikko guests a special three-course prix-fixe dinner ($45 per person) prior to all performances. Reservations can be made by calling (415) 394-1100. In 2003, Tigran moved with his family to Los Angeles, California. He began playing piano at the age of 3. Since the age of 13, he has played in European festivals. His reputation has steadily grown with every performance. He has won prestigious piano competitions, most notably, the 2006 Thelonious Monk jazz piano competition under supervision of Herbie Hancock. He has earned serious recognition with 4 albums and hundreds of concerts all around the world (Montreux, Montreal, North Sea, Juan Les Pins, Marciac, London Jazz Festival, Winter Festival in NY). Recently, Tigran was named the winner of the 2013 Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise in Contemporary Music. His new album “Shadow Theater,” recorded with his band, is due to be released Fall 2013. Sanchez remained with Tjader until the bandleader’s death in 1982. That same year, he signed with Concord for the release of Sonando!, an album that marked the beginning of a prolific musical partnership that spans 30 years and, with the September 25, 2012 digital release of Live in Hollywood, 26 albums. Whether it’s salsa, straight-ahead jazz, Latin jazz, or even elements of soul and blues, the mesmerizing array of sounds and colors from Poncho Sanchez’s youth have telegraphed across the decades and continue to inform his creative sensibilities to this day.
