FEINSTEIN’S AT THE NIKKO ANNOUNCES LINEUP FOR , NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER 2013 ▪ Additional artists to be announced at a later date ▪ SAN FRANCISCO – Hotel Nikko San Francisco and Michael Feinstein are proud to announce the upcoming lineup at the all-new Feinstein’s at the Nikko for the months of October, November and December. Artists include Emmy Award winning actress Megan Mullally (“Will and Grace) and actress Stephanie Hunt (“Friday Night Lights,” “Californication”) and their band Nancy & Beth, actress, producer and singer Rita Wilson, Broadway star and recording artist Linda Eder, soul and jazz vocalist Oleta Adams, and more! Additional artists will be announced at a later date. Located within Hotel Nikko (222 Mason Street, San Francisco), Feinstein’s at the Nikko will present a wide range of entertainers all within an intimate 140-seat cabaret setting. Tickets for all performances are on-sale now and available by calling 866.663.1063 or visiting www.ticketweb.com. There is a $20 food and beverage minimum per person inside the showroom which guests can use towards cocktails as well as a variety of small plates crafted exclusively for Feinstein’s at the Nikko by Executive Chef Philippe Striffeler, through Restaurant Anzu. Cheese and dessert platters will also be available in the showroom. All seating at Feinstein’s at the Nikko is cabaret style and available on a first-come, first-served basis within the section purchased. Guests who purchase the prix-fixe dinner at Restaurant Anzu will receive a complimentary section upgrade (subject to availability) and allowed to choose their exact seat locations within the upgraded section. Guests of Feinstein’s at the Nikko can enjoy a variety of food and beverage options before performances. Kanpai Lounge, located in Hotel Nikko’s lobby, offers light cuisine, a full bar and specialty cocktails. Restaurant Anzu, Hotel Nikko’s intimate restaurant located on the second floor, serves sustainable California cuisine enhanced with Asian flavors. Jeffery Roberson aka Varla Jean recently starred in the musical Lucky Guy opposite Leslie Jordan in New York at the Little Shubert prompting The New York Times to rave, “If Carol Burnett and Harvey Korman had stood in front of the right pair of funhouse mirrors, they might have resembled Ms. Merman and Mr. Jordan in stature as well as comedic talent”. This past year Jeffery completed shooting the sequel to Girls Will Be Girls and Varla Jean and the Mushroomheads (now available on www.SethTV.com). He played the title role of Giancarlo Menotti’s opera The Medium in New York at the Marjorie S. Deane Little Theatre last fall Off-Broadway. In 1996, Pascal tried out for the then unknown, off-Broadway production of Rent and landed the role of Roger Davis. He was nominated for a 1996 Tony Award as Best Actor (Musical) and winning a Drama League and Obie award for his performance as Roger. The show went on to become a worldwide success and one of the longest running shows in Broadway history. In 1997, he reprised the role of Roger for the West End Premiere of Rent. Their grandfather, L. B. Edwards, was the founder of the Providence Baptist Church Male Chorus and their grandmother, Arnetta Edwards, was one of the lead Altos in the Chancel Choir. The Edwards family, long-time members of Providence Baptist Church, were well known singers in the church community of the Bay Area, especially the daughters of L. B. and Arnetta; the three sisters known as “The Edward Sisters.” The group consisted of Bridgette and Lynette’s mother, Lois and her two sisters Arnette and Inez. With high regards for their fore parents’ musical history, Bridgette and Lynette state that it has been their mother, Lois E. Bailey, an accomplished pianist, who has influenced them the most. As young children, were given piano lessons and began singing in the Providence Baptist Church Juniorette Choir and went on to join the Youth and Young Adult Choir. Born Jorge Duilio Lima Menezes, he initially took the stage name Jorge Ben after his mother's name (of Ethiopian origin) but later changed it to Jorge Ben Jor (commonly written Benjor), allegedly in response to an incident where some of his royalties had accidentally gone to American guitarist George Benson. Even as a child, Ignacio Piñeiro sang in choirs and played drums with the Afro-Cuban cabildos. Then he formed his own first line up, Los Roncos, the Hoarse Ones, for which he composed choir music.
