Local Theatre - Davis/Sacramento - also SPRING AWAKENING

I have been remiss in posting here about local theatre I've been attending lately. For example, Sacramento's Music Circus had a wonderful season this past summer. And I have seen a couple of remarkable local productions this year at Green Valley Theatre Company in Sacramento (BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON and AIDA). So after I saw SPRING AWAKENING this weekend at UC Davis, I thought I'd post about it. It was my first UC Davis show ever, and it was excellent! It was directed by Broadway veteran Stafford Arima, and was cast with UCD students and an alum or two. I had some issues with the staging and the amplification of the music, but overall, it is a truly great production that helped me understand the show even better than all those times I saw it on Broadway and on tour. I know SA is not everyone's cup of tea, but if you would like to see it again, the UCD production has three more performances left from December 5-7.
