Thanks for that - it was lovely! The song here was presented differently from how it is on the OCR. It looks like this was, based on a date stamped on top of the clip, filmed (or somehow assembled for some purpose --- it says "Presenting Keith Michell") in 1971; so I'm not sure if this was a retrospective re-pairing of Ms. Seal and Mr. Michell or taped sometime around 1960 when the show was done in NY (or earlier in London).
I went back to see Mr. Michell take over for Gene Barry as Georges in "La Cage aux Folles" during the original run, and Mr. Michell sounded as wonderful as he did (and with some of his very distinctive vocal mannerisms of some of his more charactery songs) on the OCR of "Irma La Douce".
Btw, sometimes on the internet it is possible to see Mr. Michell's screen test as Captain von Trapp for the movie of "The Sound of Music"; he sang it beautifully, though he probably wasn't commanding enough in his dialogue scene.
Plus, there is a clip of Ms. Seal singing and dancing "Hey, Look Me Over" from "Wildcat" which shows what a fantastic dancer and exuberant musical performer she was and how great she must have been as Irma in the show's livelier moments.
Does anyone know if there are any video clips of Mr. Michell doing "Man of La Mancha"? I believe the original London cast recording was, like the OCR of "Most Happy Fella", the entire audio of the stage performance.
Thanks again for posting this clip -- it was a real treat!
