In honor of World AIDS Day today ...

Posted by: WaymanWong 12:00 pm EST 12/01/13

Here's a clip of Tom Andersen singing ''Yard Sale,'' a beautiful song he wrote about a moving encounter he had during the early days of AIDS in San Francisco. Other fine AIDS songs worth a listen (or re-listening): Tom Brown's ''Jonathan Wesley Oliver Jr.'' and Bill Russell and Janet Hood's ''My Brother Lived in San Francisco.'' (Also available on YouTube.)

Meantime, shows are continuing to raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS right now with autographed Playbills and posters. It'll all culminate with the ''Gypsy of the Year'' on Dec. 9-10 at the Minskoff Theatre.
