Yes, but it's an incorrect casual reference. And at any rate, using an incorrect historical term in a play that's all about the history of theater can scarcely be termed a "casual reference."

The comparison you made is not a good one, because presumably a person using the word "flu" isn't sure if what s/he's got is the flu or a bad cold, whereas even if you don't know what period of history is classified as the Restoration, it's pretty easy to find the answer.
