That's an interesting point. I have not seen the play, but if the character in the McNally play who incorrectly refers to SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER as a restoration play is supposed to be someone who's speaking off the cuff and who isn't depicted as being very knowledgeable of theater history, then one might argue that this is not an error, although I'd argue that it's still unfortunate in perpetuating misinformation.
