Hmm....I don't agree with almost a single thing you have written in your review. I loved the show from top to bottom, didn't find any of it shrill, and its going to be the show to beat come Best Musical Tony time...holding out to see what Rocky and Purple Rose bring...

I thought the direction was top notch, the performances exactly what you would imagine from just reading the script, and the staging appropriate.

Personally, I haven't seen anything as good in years, and I've seen every musical the past almost 30 years...

Different strokes for different folks...
