I sadly have to agree with you. It was all so beautiful and yet so dull. In my opinion you're being kind when you say "the music and lyrics weren't all that great". The only reason to spend money on this show is to see the great Leo Norbert Butz and the gorgeous fantasy numbers created by Susan Stroman. It wasn't enough for me.
