"Those Fabray roles" ...

Most of Farbray's roles were in flops, and even those that were in reasonably successful shows (which basically amount to HIGH BUTTON SHOES) weren't distinctive enough to say that she left any stamp on them. As seen here, a pleasant performer, nice voice, attractive (even before the rhinoplasty that earned her the moniker "No Nose Nanette"). She later blossomed into a fine comedienne in film and TV, but I doubt that casting notices often ask for "a Fabray type".

This clip is interesting because at this milder tempo "Green Up Time" is a more tolerable song than as presented in LOVE LIFE, where it is a vapidly perky production number with Weill is clearly trying for an R & H charm ditty.
