You very likely are on to something with the tax write off theory. But when you ask how big a failure and say the show is selling tickets when it is well below half its capacity, has a low advance and is bleeding money every week (with the winter months coming around the corner) I wonder what sort of parallel Broadway universe you live in. Obviously one where if two superior shows (After Midnight and A Gentlemen's Guide to Love and Murder)grab Tony nominations there will not be two amongst the other five incoming musicals (Beautiful, The Bridges of Madison County, If/Then, Bullets Over Broadway and Aladdin) to grab the remaining two. Oddly enough Big Fish has its best shot at a Tony nomination for what many consider its weakest element Best Score since so many musicals this season are not using original music. But a Tony nomination for Best Musical? I would not be surprised. I would be ASTOUNDED!
