I thought it was boring. The score was dull, but that wasn't the only problem. It could have been a spectacular show full of dazzling visuals but I thought everything on stage LOOKED boring. I thought it was begging for some more theatrical effects. (Not that I necessarily yearn for eye candy & spectacle on Broadway but this show could have really used some.) Nothing really impressed me.

The performances were okay-- personally I wasn't crazy about Norbert Leo Butz but I seem to be in the minority. But performance aside, he's not a bankable star. I mean, he's a big name on these boards but most ticket buyers probably don't know who he is. Hell, the film/novel itself isn't even that beloved (or wasn't that commercially successful) so it's not like it has a source material that people are instantly drawn to.

I think this show COULD have been great but it was just dullsville. A big let down.
