I find ''Be the Hero'' a very catchy opener. I love how the word ''Stranger'' goes through different meanings in Will's big solo. And ''Time Stops'' is a touching song with one of the loveliest melodies I've heard this fall.

Yes, 'Be the Hero' was catchy and energetic, but for an opening number it's very abstract. It's about archetypes, a literary idea, when it needed to be concrete.

'Time Stops' was great, perfectly set up by the preceding silly dance and so much better than the earlier songs that when it started I felt a rush of relief.

The lyrics of 'Stranger' are intelligent, but in the moment it felt unmotivated.
