I remember how the animated "King and I" laid something of an egg, yes? I never saw it. The Disney King And I was a disaster. The songs were cut to shreds, the plot was reworked to include a Disney-style nemesis, and in general it took all the honest drama out of the piece and went for the "cute" factor instead. You should be very glad you didn't see it. (I did, and I wish I hadn't, lol.)
