I don't think so.

I see very little evidence that premium ticket pricing is causing shows to recoup any faster than they ever did. Star-driven plays that have premium-priced tickets may recoup a little faster, but would certainly have recouped anyway, thanks to the star's drawing power. It's only the difference between recouping in fifteen weeks and making a nice profit, or recouping in ten weeks and making a bigger profit. If you're talking about big musicals with premium tickets, they recoup in about a year (unless they're Spider-Man), but then big musicals always could recoup in a year if they were selling out. And premium ticket prices only come into play if the show is essentially selling out anyway. So premium ticket pricing isn't turning flops into hits. It may be turning shows that were always destined to be hits into yet more remunerative hits, but I don't see how that constitutes "saving Broadway."

I also don't see any evidence that more shows than ever are finding financing. At least, not if you mean Broadway. Annual Broadway production totals for the last 40 years have held pretty steady, with a dip from the late '80s until about 2003 from which we have now recovered--but only back to the same level as in the '70s and early '80s. Production levels are certainly not soaring now--just holding steady.
