"You're not taking a public (anonymous) and unpleasant pot shot at a colleague/co-worker?"

That Lane has publicly said unkind things about colleagues is common knowledge, so I'm not exactly talking out of school.

In context of this discussion, and as a response to bwaydiva, I don't think saying that in my experience, "Victoria Clark has uniformly been kind and considerate to all. I cannot say the same about Lane" constitutes a pot shot.

As I said below, I have heard in recent years that he has become a happier man, and I sincerely hope that is true. He is a very talented man who clearly has demons that he struggles with.
