That is the statement of yours to which I was responding. You certainly don't seem to be saying there nothing more than "folks sometimes refer to (e.g.) The School for Scandal as restoration comedy, and in light of that (unless my assumption about how it is used in the play is wrong) it is not a faux pas for McNally to use the term as he did."

If all you were saying was that people sometimes refer to The School for Scandal as a restoration comedy, this discussion would have ended much sooner.
