I paid $69 to see THE BOOK OF MORMAN before it opened. A friend of mine won the lottery twice. Last week the average price of a ticket was $219. First of all I would not pay that much to see a play and I would not have enjoyed it that much if I were to pay that much. I think the greedy producers do not care about making theater accessible to all. As a result, in the future a majority of people will not go to the theater. When I was a teenager I saw many great plays for $3. I got hooked on playgoing. Who can afford $219 to take young people to the theater?
