I have always believed "A Streetcar Named Desire" is a very difficult play to cast, which may explain the many women mentioned for the original Blanche.

Like many people, I would have loved to have seen Jessica Tandy in the role but I am too young. I wish she had done the film rather than Vivian Leigh.
