I obviously agree with you about the job description, but it is worth noting that most all producers DO make some effort at making theatre accessible. Rush tickets exist for most shows, and many of the current shows that one could suggest ought to be accessible to broader (and younger) audiences have quite a number of tickets available around at a very accessible price point. I also think it is worth noting that the idea of "accessible to all" is a preposterous standard. There are, we should recognize, many folks living amongst us for whom going to the movies is a budget breaker, and for some of those, even the price of subway fare to free theatre would make it inaccessible.
