Kirstie Alley plays a narcissistic Broadway actress in the new TV Land show “Kirstie”

The NYT review is pretty funny: On TV Land, you don’t sweat the details... Its latest comedy, “Kirstie,” beginning on Wednesday night, may have the most outlandish premise yet. The main character, played by Kirstie Alley, lives plushly in Manhattan with a staff including an assistant, a chef and a driver — all on the money she makes as a Broadway actress. And in plays, not musicals. Somewhere, Cherry Jones is whacking her forehead. Actually, Ms. Jones, who has appeared in 14 Broadway plays (according to ibdb.com), may find it interesting when Ms. Alley’s Madison Banks says, “Wednesday night, I am opening in my 14th Broadway show.” She can tune out the rest of the joke: “And I didn’t have to sleep with anyone for the last five.” The pic accompanying the review suggests that Kristin Chenoweth will guest in an upcoming episode.
