Michael P,
I totally agree. And if you are writing a character who is a broadway diva, it has to be believable that the actress cast is one. NOTTING HILL would not have worked with an actress that was not believable as a mega-star. Do we buy that Martin Sheen is the president. Yes. Do we buy that Zach Braff is a doctor...sure, why not. They were able to pull it off. Do we buy that Kirstie has been in over a dozen broadway plays as a serious dramatic acctress...never. It would have made more sense if she were a film star or a soap star of a Vegas comedian. I don't buy that women doing dramatic roles. If you must tell this story...because that is what the actress wants to play...keep it real. I get the set has to be nice, so go over the top, fine. But giving her a live in chauffeur and a live in assistant and a cook.? It just shows the writer/network/staff have never worked in theater or been around anyone that has. And that is insulting. And again, I will still watch to see Kristen.
