Random musing: I wonder why they changed the name of the husband's character from Richard to Bud. I wasn't much of a fan of the book, but that always stood out to me because it's my husband's name and my husband has a long standing, mostly joking, gripe that cuckolded husbands in books and movies seem to always be named Richard.
