I did not include TKTS because one could suggest that the lower prices there are not prompted by providing tickets at accessible prices but by the law of supply and demand. Make no mistake about it though: when Scott Rudin sells rush tickets to Book of Mormon, it is not because the demand would not support a much higher price. What's really kinda offensive to me about those crying about access and greed is the sense of entitlement. And it is not simply access to all shows-whether they are even artistically or culturally worthwhile-but access to prime seats to those shows. I just don't get it. If you don't like our form of capitalism, change it. I'll probably support you. But don't act like commercial producers in the high risk business of Broadway theatre are some sort of eleemosynary institution.
