Keep in mind that when he leaves in Jan., 2014, Sands will have been doing Kinky Boots for well over a year (the pre-Broadway engagement in Chicago began in Oct., 2013). He's got talent, looks, a decent singing voice -- he's given fine performances in 3 consecutive Broadway shows. I'm sure he has a lot of other opportunities right now.

Porter on the other hand (who is tough to cast) has the role of a lifetime -- he really was born to play Simon/Lola. I would expect him to stay at least 2 years on Broadway and possibly tour.
