Oh the EVE holes are many and varied.

Yes, I have thought of the exact points. A non AEA actor ascending to understudy -- as if an understudy gig is somehow lowly (as it is somewhat treated) rather than a wonderful, well-paid union job in New York City. (I have friends who have just that job, and bristle at this point, the amateur getting one of the best jobs in the city.) But even more obvious: look what happens in a single season. Single season! Eve arrives late enough that everyone is in at least autumn wear. Yet by the end, not only has Eve moved on to understudy Margo, but she's then opened the new play, and then LEFT it to go to Hollywood. Even if she was out of town for only 2 weeks (unlikely) with FOOTSTEPS ON THE CEILING, it would've opened around March or April. Yet she receives the Sarah Siddons, and has taken up residency (and drinking and smoking) in an elegant hotel. And been signed for a movie role? And already we have Eve Fan Clubs in high schools! Yes, all in about 6-9 months maximum! It's mind-numbing.
