Both productions suffer from the technical limitations of their time. "The Most Happy Fella" looks grainy and for lack of a better point of reference "Beta Max". "She Loves Me" suffers from cuts, a very cheesy TV studio "look"...and uninspired performances. They'd both do well with fresh versions. As to those who want to deride me for "Plain and Fancy", "Take Me Along" and "The Rothschilds", I'm advocating a BROADENING of what is available for the public to experience, to SEE what has come before. Do we NEED a 4th "Once Upon A Mattress"? I think not.
