Saw the second preview last night of American Psycho the musical at the Almeida. Anyone know if this show is Broadway bound? This would be a big hit if it comes to the states. What a wild ride. Matt Smith (Dr. Who) plays Patrick Bateman in the most deliciously creepy way. Funny yet oh so chilling. The entire cast is strong and handles the material well. Rupert Goold who did ENRON a few seasons back has approached this musical in the same way. Innovative staging with wild projections. Music is a mix of 80's pop tunes and original songs by Duncan Sheik with a sharp book by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. This show with all its elements and ambitions sounds like a giant train wreck but they pulled it off. Huey Lewis never sounded so good! A super fun show. Seeing MOJO tonight. Great to be back in London seeing theatre!
