And the fact that not another car even passes on the Connecticut roadway. At dusk on a Monday night. Think about that. It looks like remote stretches of Maine, not a state near NYC. And they leave only minutes before the train. It's convenient, of course, so no rescue is possible. But difficult to imagine. (And they have minutes, but he thinks about walking to a house to get a can of gas?) That snow is sufficient to demand attention, and the casual attitude about the train schedule doesn't track with Margo's duly noted track record for never missing a performance. If she's so obsessed with that, why would she take the risk of boarding the last possible train to NY in time for curtain?
