Well, eight months. In the first scene, Karen says in voice over When was it? How long? It seems a lifetime ago. Lloyd always said that in the Theater a lifetime was a season, and a season a lifetime. It's June now. That was - early October... only last October. I agree that there's no way that Footsteps on the Ceiling could have opened before March at the earliest. (Elsewhere -- and I was wrong about this upthread -- Lloyd mentions that the plan was for Footsteps to open the following season, but with Eve available, he's decided to get it into production immediately for what is presumably a spring opening.) The Eve timeline, such as it is, is predicated on how long Bill is in Hollywood, from "early October" until the night of Margo's party. How long would a director be needed actually on-site at the studio to complete a film and have it ready for the first preview in those days? Eight weeks? Ten weeks?
