The Pulitzer committee is not strict about what year a play premiered, as long as it had a major production in the year in which it is recognized. However they are very strict about whether a play has been previously submitted for consideration, so it would matter whether the other plays in the cycle had been previously submitted.

On the other hand, precedent leans strongly towards recognizing a single play out of a cycle (Kushner, Hudes, etc.)
