| Let's spend 9 million on a live production of a musical starring a woman who has never acted. Meron and Zadon do it again. How can two men who seem to love musicals so much consistently produce such dreck? Poor Ms Underwood couldn't act her way out of paper bag. Moyer isn't much better. A most disheartening affair. And when will Rob Ashford understand choreography that is appropriate for the moment. | |

| How is it any of your business how much was spent? Was it your money? And if you hate Meron and Zadon's work so much, why are you sitting there watching? Or do you just get off bitching about it? | |

| Terrible camera work. It looks very much like a daily soap opera. | |

| I agree that Zadan and Meron thrive on mediocrity. But I'm enjoying this nevertheless. The only really terrible problem is poor Underwood can't act. But the material holds up. | |

| Excellent advice. I got home late and started watching THE SOUND OF MUSIC at about 8:30. What I saw and heard had the earmarks of an amateur community production in which the pretty girl with the lovely voice and absolutely no acting talent is given the lead. By 8:35 I had indeed changed the channel. Yikes. | |

| That Rolf would be up on charges of statutory -- he must be around 30; what's he doing hanging out with a 16-year old? | |

| I'm enjoying it a lot, too. The live aspect really adds a lot. Is it perfect? Definitely not. But it's putting a big smile on my face. And some of the flourishes are great (like the house wall revealing the abbey when Maria returns to the nuns). But is it bad for me to hope that the Captain would somehow decide to go off with Laura Benanti instead? | |
