....reduced my entire living room of cynical tv watchers to a blubbering mess.

Just sublime. Wish they'd have focused the camera work more on her.

Agreed. Or Laura (hey, she knows the role!). But I'm liking Carrie well enough. Her performance wouldn't win a Tony, but it just might earn an Emmy (that was a dig at the Emmys, not Carrie Underwood).
