I'm actually rather surprised that there aren't that many comments talking about Marin Mazzie's being cast. I wonder if her role will be large enough in the new musical to be considered leading. She must have really impressed Woody Allen with her auditions, since he passed on Bernadette Peters, Patti LuPone and plenty of other top talent. I thought Mazzie was very funny in "Kiss Me, Kate", and her singing in that and "Ragtime" was wonderful.
