Perhaps it's time to get off the high horse

To compare Underwood with Andrews in insane for one reason. Andrews had the benefit of a good director.
Andrews had the benefit of retakes.
Andrews had the benefit of a film editor.
Andrews had the benefit of extended rehearsals. Andrews had the benefit of stage experience.
Andrews had the benefit of a classically trained costar
Underwood had none of these.
Is Underwood a good actress? Not really; her acting reminded me of Ali Magraw in Love Story - kind of like that deer in the headlights with little emotional range.
But she was courted for the part and deserves credit for delivering a solid C performance- and a lovely singing voice.

I found it interesting that her best scenes were with MacDonald. That old pro elevates anyone who appears on stage with her.
