Time Magazine on SOM Live

Posted by: OntheBooks 11:56 am EST 12/06/13

Whatever you thought about the broadcast last night, I'm a bit amazed that Time Magazine published this.

The writer clearly didn't bother to see a stage production of The Sound of Music or even care o familiarize herself with that original version before laying down her opinion.

"After the glorious Audra McDonald as Mother Superior fires Maria from being a nun, Maria gets upset and they start singing “My Favorite Things.” It didn’t bother me that they repurposed this song here because Audra got to sing it"

You can see that the writer ran an update in response to reader corrections, but she then justifies that she's comparing this to the film - which it was never, ever reported to be a remake of.
