With the exception of the Weissler's "Grease" stunt from years ago, I can't imagine any producer bringing a tour to Broadway while a different production is still on the boards. It would cannibalize the box office, I think. And, inevitably, there would be snarky comparisons between the two, here and elsewhere. I would be shocked if it made it's way here. If Phantom were winding up it's run, I could see CM running the tour for a year or 2, then bringing the "revival" to Broadway. But I think Phantom still has a few years of gas in the tank.

What might be a better question is: is the tour cheaper to run than the Broadway production (i.e.: does it have a the same size cast/pit/crew)? If so, would CM ever pull a "Beauty & the Beast" and try to "move" Phantom, only to incorporate the changes and save some money.
