I've heard Audra SO much that I can tell when she's tired. During a perf of PORGY that I saw, she gave a THOUSAND percent, regardless, but she was just a little tired. You know, like a normal soprano might be who's singing one of the hardest roles EVER and doing it 8 times a week. And yelling and screaming and stuff. I really couldn't believe what a vocal workout she was putting herself through; by all rationales she could have said *6 shows a week, bitches, take it or leave it" and been perfectly justified.

Last night she just sounded really rested and resonant and fantastic. It's gotta help when you've only got two or three big songs to sing.
