Maybe the next NBC live event should be a Lady Gaga vehicle OR start with a reality competition

Not only is she an enormous star, one with such appeal (apparently) that ABC of all networks decided she should do a Muppets Holiday Special / Gaga Concert in order to promote her new album and the new Muppets movie I guess… it was a bizarre mixture throughout to say the least. And she's a hit on SNL too.

Anyway the point is she can REALLY sing and she comes from doing theater. She has the star power and the background and the talent to draw the crowd and pull it off, one could assume.

It would be pretty cool to see a CHICAGO LIVE with Gaga and someone like Janelle Monae. Not that we need to see Chicago again, but just thinking.

She would also be great for Adalaide in Guys & Dolls… an obvious choice of a show for their next production, though it isn't a vehicle that shows off Gaga's singing.

I'm also surprised that they haven't done a reality show competition to cast the leads for a live theatrical tv event. Then you don't need a big star because you have the built in and already engaged audience from the competition show. I think it would have made MUCH more sense if the GREASE casting show had lead up to a live TV production of the show (especially if after winning the competition they go into rehearsal and the event airs live like 4-8 weeks after the competition show ends), rather than a Broadway production. Maybe that will happen in a few years.
