the boarding house was much more of a night club then cabaret. pretty big room. bette midler played here the first time she came to sf. and ms cook. and the manhattan transfer. but it closed up a very long time ago. for awhile they relocated to what is now cobbs corner on columbus. that's where i did 'beyond the fringe' back in '82.
