i'd have more respect for her had she referred to her as ms andrews.

who saying she can't? no reason to think she should get a free ride. criticism just comes along with the territory.
it would be a shame if she's feeling like a failure, though. it certainly wasn't a star is born moment and i don't think she's been trained adequately to have the kind of chops to come out of this to great accolades but none of the (real) reviews i've read (though it just occurs to me i haven't read that many - i think just the ones linked here) are indicated she made a total ass of herself. on live television that was a possibility. or did i just not red the right reviews?
i got the impression they went pretty much along the lines of what went on here; a couple of oh, my god she's brilliant! (there's always going to be a couple) mostly a lot of close but no cigar and a couple of her performance indicated a new low in civilization (always going to be couple of these as well.)
regardless, i don't see any reason why she should be feeing like a failure. bottom line - she did what she was paid for by bringing in the numbers. if nbc carried the entire night that indicates that a whole lotta people watched (or taped) the entire 3 hours.
