Did you ever see Glenn Close in a film called "Maxie"? I think she's a great actress in drama, a very uneven vocalist in musicals, but she really bombed playing comedy in "Maxie" along with Mandy Patinkin. Pass, please. Bette or Dolly Parton, please. Or Cyndi Lauper or Cher or quite a few other ladies who can handle comedic acting as well as sing.
