I don't know about Gould, but I wonder if Streisand could be talked into either The Visit or Dear World? They both have strongly political messages and both (in their straight play versions) feature starring roles that great actresses have played on stage and screen.

Live TV she might balk at, but it would be worth a try at least.

For the sake of Jerry Herman, she should imortalize it. Underrated show music like no other, and Babs looks good in a frizzy do. buzzie, dreaming again

She also doesn't have to do it live if she doesn't want to. It could be taped to ease her perfectionist tendencies, and it still would be special.
