The six time Emmy winner Bruce Vilanch will be starring in 42nd Street Moon Production of Cole Porter's Dubarry was a Lady come spring at the Eureka Theatre. The role was originally written for Bert Lahr.

pretty big name for that theater and productions.

When 42nd Street announced they would be doing the Cole Porter's musical, Bruce called the company and he said he was interested in doing the Bert Lahr role. Of course the company yes he could do the part.

i can see why they said "yes" to his request. i really liked him in Hairspray when the tour was here.

and usually 42nd Moon is local people. Richard's explanation above makes a lot of sense.

But they do bring in outside people occasionally. Andrea did Coco and Lea Delario did Once Upon a Mattress.
