THE TOP TEN TOURING AND NON REGIONAL PRODUCTIONS
2013

ANYTHING GOES---SHN ---The Cole Porter Musical was intoxicating. Love this glitzy production and Rachael York was a strand out as Reno Sweeney. What a great way to greet the new year.

KING LEAR---OREGON SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL—one of the best productions I have ever seen of this Shakespeare play. This was an exceptionally sensitive and shart production along a contemporary time frame. Great cast.

AUGUST WILSON’S “TWO TRAIN RUNNING’ ---OREGON SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL---One on the best productions I have seen of this master playwright. Splendid cast of characters made August Wilson’s words come alive.

BLACK WATCH---NATIONAL THEATRE OF SCOTLAND---although ACT presented this riveting production at the Armory Community Center it still gets on my top ten of amazing productions that we saw this year. The imaginative choreography was awesome.

NO MAN’S LAND---Berkeley Rep I group this fantastic production of Harold Pinter’s drama in this group since it was a pre Broadway run . What can I saw about Sir Ian McKellen. This was the great acting of the year as far as I am concern. Patrick Steward was a perfect in his role also. All I can say is Bravo, Bravo, Bravo.

PRICILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT---A razzle dazzle production that was a fun fast pace musical. Love it.

BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROL KING MUSICAL---A pre Broadway run her and it should be up for a Tony nomination in 2014. Jessie Mueller as Carol King gave a Tony nomination performance
.

PETER AND THE STARCATCHER—A very funny put on of the who was Peter Pan before the he learned to fly.

THE GERSHWIN’S “PORGY AND BESS”---This mark the fourth time to see the Gershwin’s classic and this production materialized as a moving accolade to the genius of the original.

TRISTAN & YSULT---a enchanting production of the Kneehigh’s Company presentation at Berkeley Rep. Music enliven the Cornish tale of the doomed lovers of Tristan and Isolde
